This is months late, but I just got the photos from the Acoustic Guitar Meeting in Sarzana, Italy. Sarzana is a beautiful, atmospheric town sitting close to the border between Liguria and Tuscany, not far from Cinque Terre or Pisa. The Acoustic Guitar Meeting is Italy’s biggest guitar event of the year, and I performed on Sunday afternoon in the courtyard of the old fortezza that makes Sarzana famous with history buffs. There are rooms honeycombing the old fort, filled with exhibits, guitar makers’ booths, impromptu performances, guitar-centric organizations and whoever feels like exhibiting. Overall, like Italy meets acoustic guitar meets 1500 years of history meets the NAMM show. Great place, great event, and great food all over Sarzana. Try the farinata from the Antico Forno in the old city, and you’ll know what I mean.
